Hyaluronic Acid

hyaluronic yalouronikoHyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural hydrophilic substance, which occurs in high concentrations in healthy skin. It is a polysaccharide, which is the main component of the basic substance of the skin. Over the years, the body produces less and less of this acid, so the skin begins to loosen, dehydrate and wrinkles make their first appearance.
When hyaluronic acid comes into contact with the skin:
• It improves the plasticity, elasticity and softness of the skin
• It controls the amount of water in the dermal tissue, slowing down the diffusion of water from the dermis to the epidermis thereby achieving deep hydration (one molecule of hyaluronic acid retains 500 water molecules)
• It transfers protein, increases the resistance of the skin to harmful external agents, prevents the conversion of soluble collagen to insoluble and enhances the healing and regenerative capacity of the skin
• It enhances firmness and helps to maintain the skin’s youthful appearance
• It contributes to collagen production, increases the resistance of the skin to harmful external factors and boosts its regenerative capacity
• It enhances the healing capacity of the skin and helps create wound epithelium
